Argentina, we have some great news for you: After our confirmation for the Masters Of Rock festival in Buenos Aires there was such a huge demand for a full length Avantasia-only show, so we talked to the festival promoter and found a solution for an ADDITIONAL AVANTASIA SHOW IN BUENOS AIRES the day before the festival. So, we are thrilled to deliver the full show in Argentina too! See you all on April 27th in Buenos Aires. We can’t wait to get this party started!

On April 24th 2023 Avantasia will play their only European concert in 2023, before they’ll kick off a Latin American tour of several weeks. 

Mastermind Tobias Sammet: »Given all the craziness in the current concert business situation in Europe, I didn’t want to announce anything we might not be able to live up to. BUT NOW, that our Latin American tour is carved in stone and is going to happen, and since we’re all coming together for rehearsals in Germany anyway, I thought: Why not gather a bit earlier and add a show for our die hard fans in Germany? To celebrate a special party featuring old and new material with the most loyal fans in a quite intimate setting! So: be quick or be lost. It’s going to be a blast!«

Am 24.4.2023 werden AVANTASIA in der Oberhausener Turbinenhalle das voraussichtlich einziges Europa-Konzert des Jahres 2023 spielen, bevor man im Anschluss zu einer mehrwöchigen Tour durch Lateinamerika aufbricht. 

Mastermind Tobias Sammet: »Bei all den Verwerfungen um die aktuelle Veranstaltungssituation in Europa wollte ich nichts ankündigen, was man unter Umständen wieder einkassieren muss. JETZT steht unsere lange geplante Südamerikatour aber sicher. Und da wir ohnehin schonmal alle zum Proben in Deutschland zusammenkommen, warum nicht einfach etwas früher starten und noch ein Konzert einbauen, um mit unseren Die-Hard Fans ein einmaliges Event mit alten und neuen Songs zu feiern? Brazil – we’re coming back! Next year at the Summer Breeze Festival in Sao Paulo.

The third single off of the forthcoming new AVANTASIA album “A Paranormal Evening With The Moonflower Society” is a timeless, untrendy, old-school power ballad called “Misplaced Among The Angels” which features a vocal duet of Tobias with Floor Jansen of Nightwish. A lyric video, made by Ingo Spörl based on illustrations of cover artist Alexander Jansson is also now available.

Tobias says: “I am really proud of the song, Floor has done an amazing job, and I think I have done a good job too, it was a very demanding vocal performance for both of us but in the end it was worth the effort as our voices work extremely well together. Floor is an outstanding vocalist!

We have just been informed that Nine Lives Festival will not take place on Sept 3rd as scheduled.

Due to unforeseen staff and technical issues, 9 Lives Entertainment unfortunately have to cancel / postpone the festival. They are striving to reschedule it but for now they can’t tell you an alternative date, and we have no clue if we can be part of it, which year it will be etc, and therefor they kindly ask you to please give your tickets back and have them refunded and then – if you like – buy new ones whenever the time has come for a new date and line up.

We as AVANTASIA are very sorry about this but it is not in our hands. Yet, rest assured: the remaining two dates in Czech Republic and Coburg are going to take place as scheduled, crew, band and locals are ready to celebrate those shows with you, it’s all set and those shows will happen!!!

Tobias Sammet: »From the first song ideas back in 2018 / 2019 to the production, orchestration, keyboards, arrangements, details, I have been personally involved so deeply in every little aspect and detail of this album, that you can’t get an album any more personal or closer to my vision than this one. I had the time, nothing else to do in the past two and a half years, it was a slow movement life with music and my Mysteryhausen studio serving as a portal to another world, full of music and quirky encounters with my muses, that kept me sane and hopeful. I am super proud of the album, some of my best songs, some of my most emotional and extreme vocal performances, some of the strongest guest performances ever. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and when you’ll hear it, you will know why!«

The album was produced by Tobias with Avantasia guitarist Sascha Paeth, who’s also responsible for the powerful and timeless mix of the album.

Tobias Sammet: »Von den ersten Songideen, die ich bereits in den Jahren 2018 und 2019 hatte, bis hin zur Produktion, der Orchestrierung, den Keyboards, Arrangements und Details war ich in sämtliche Arbeitsschritte so tief eingebunden, dass das Album extrem persönlich wurde. Es ist in allen Belangen verdammt nah an meiner ursprünglichen künstlerischen Vision, auch weil ich einfach sehr viel Zeit in den letzten zweieinhalb Jahren hatte. Es gab ja sonst kaum etwas zu tun. Das Leben wurde entschleunigt, und mein Mysteryhausen-Studio wurde von immer größerer Bedeutung, denn es diente mir als Eingang in eine andere Welt, voller Musik, Inspiration und Begegnungen mit meinen Musen, die mir dabei halfen, einen klaren Kopf und die Hoffnung zu bewahren. Ich bin sehr stolz auf das Album, da sind einige meiner besten Songs drauf, einige meiner emotionalsten und extremsten Gesangs-Performances, und einige der besten Gast-Beiträge überhaupt. Ich könnte mit dem Resultat wirklich nicht glücklicher sein. Und wenn Ihr es hört, werdet Ihr wissen, warum!«

Produziert wurde das Album von Tobias in Zusammenarbeit mit Sascha Paeth, der auch für den kraftvollen und zeitlosen Mix verantwortlich ist.

After almost three years of hard work, mastermind Tobias Sammet and his outstanding all-star formation inspire us with an epic full-throttle track, in which the master himself as well as his duet partner Ralf Scheepers present themselves in an absolute world-class vocal form.

The song, which gives a first impression of the ninth AVANTASIA album “A Paranormal Evening with the Moonflower Society” to be released in autumn, comes with a lavishly animated lyric video, for which Costin Chioreanu is responsible.

Tobias Sammet: “I’m so happy with the upcoming album that you could put out any song as the first single. But somehow, after the last two years, I felt the need to go full steam ahead as soon as I’m let off the leash. And honestly, it’s also cool to know that many would probably have expected a less extreme track to accompany AVANTASIA’s re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere. But AVANTASIA is not stylistically fixed, anything goes, commercial, epic, grotesque or full steam ahead, doesn’t matter: All of it is part of AVANTASIA’s very own world. We have found our own pigeonhole and different laws apply there. Longtime fans know that. And so I have the feeling that “The Wicked Rule The Night” is unpredictable, exciting, fresh and new, despite my trademarks, as you know them from AVANTASIA or EDGUY.
